"Aftermath" - Prologue

Image
Prologue Nevada Desert – 1985             Sam hated traveling so far out to a remote location just to meet with one woman…one woman who was a waste of time and energy. “Nina” was the name in which they gave the top-secret government facility and program located in the Nevada desert, conceived and developed by Dr. Sam Owens himself and former Hawkins Lab director, Dr. Martin Brenner.             A lot had happened over the last couple of years – Owens and Brenner kept tabs on it all from Nina. How Brenner managed to get surveillance established in two separate states, Sam would never know. He sat in a room with live feeds that played 24/7. Some monitors displayed footage out of Hawkins, Indiana, while others were in Lenora Hills, California.             Of course, Brenner wasn’t the person Sam needed to see. Three months ago, they had a “guest” – an alluring red-eyed brunette in a red corset and black leather pants – who somehow showed up in the top-secret facility, willingly allowing

RECAP

LAST TIME ON INFINITE DC...     Si, the 22nd incarnation of Neas the Gladiator of Gallifrey, landed in a pocket dimension parallel to the town of Hawkins, Indiana (from Stranger Things ) with her companion, the half-demon known as "Hellboy," during the Halloween of 1983.  There, they befriend a girl who only went by "Eleven" (due to the number tattooed on her forearm), who possessed strong telepathic powers...strong enough to control even Si's Type-Z TARDIS.     Together, the trio met with the locals of Hawkins: Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson, Lucas Sinclair, Jonathan Byers, Nancy Wheeler, Joyce Byers, and Chief Jim Hopper. The town was plagued by the disappearance of Will Byers, who Si ultimately discovered to have been trapped in the pocket universe and managed to get him out, with help from Hellboy, Eleven, and their new friends. However, it came at the cost of Eleven's life, as she sacrificed herself to rid the dimension of a monster that escaped from

"Speci-Men" - Part Five

Part Five             Geoff was beyond excited to be involved in this super-secret mission. He pretended to be his favorite movie hero, James Bond, and his dad to be like his sidekick – though he didn’t recall Bond ever having one. The night would’ve been even cooler if he was allowed to peek inside Miya’s awesome spaceship. He briefly pried himself away from his lookout position to get another glimpse at it, but he was met with the disconcerting sight of Miya lying face-down down on the floor outside of her ship.             “Daddy, lookit!” He alerted his father.             “Geoff, stay focused – we’re supposed to…” Richard intended to turn for only a second to mind his son, but in following his gaze, he also saw the inert Miya. Sands was nowhere to be seen, which was only more unusual. Chambers and his son rushed to her aid, and as they had done so, Miya’s ship made some bizarre sounds before it suddenly vanished from thin air.             “What was that?!” They heard w

"Speci-Men" - Part Four

Part Four             Urgent footsteps rang through the halls of the twentieth floor.             Derek did his best to keep in pace with the furious President and his equally furious Vice President. This wasn’t a cordial visit. Apparently, an incident occurred earlier that day, in which the Vice President was physically abused…shortly before his son was killed.             The culprit of both incidents being the alien visitor.             “I’m certain this is all a misunderstanding, Mr. President,” Sands reassured.             “There’s no misunderstanding about what happened, Sands!” Stanson stormed. “That creature you’re harboring in this building assaulted me and killed my boy! And I demand restitution!”             “Calm down, Stanson,” the President ordered. “We’re all on the same page here.”             They were flanked by armed National Security guards – imposing men who stood over six feet tall, clad head-to-toe in black body armor. A total of nine arrived wi

"Speci-Men" - Part Three

Part Three             Two weeks passed in the Man World.             Miya was allowed to spend much of it in the living quarters of Richard and his son. Located on the twentieth floor of the Sands Corp building, it was a suitable penthouse with a beautiful view of New York City, but it was also rather bland with its lack of décor. There were no paintings on the walls and everything was blue, from the kitchen sink to the flatscreen TV. There were only eight distinct rooms: the foyer, kitchen, two bedrooms, a study room, a den, and a laboratory with the only bathroom in the whole place – which was where Richard was at the moment. Miya spent most of her time in the study.             There, she shut off the security cameras, so that Sands or whoever kept up with surveillance wouldn’t see her hacking the Sands Corp database to research the reproduction machine. She had a little help from Geoff, whose login was required for the personal computer, supplied by Sands Corp’s educationa
