"Recall" - Part One

Image
Part One             “AH! GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!”             Gumball woke up screaming those words, and he wasn’t entirely sure why. The last few hours were a total blur. The last thing he could remember was waiting for the school bus with his fish brother, Darwin, and then suddenly being chased across ten blocks by Tina Rex. After that, it was all a mystery to the young blue cat-boy.             Now, he was inside some sort of futuristic cab with a driver – a smiling robotic mannequin in an old-fashioned cabbie’s uniform – with Darwin sitting to one side of him. Sitting at his other side was a strange lady with short blond hair, wearing a red flannel shirt and ripped denim jeans. She was unlike anything Gumball had ever seen around Elmore.             “Ba...

"Aftermath" - Part Nine

Image
Part Nine              Si didn’t have much time left. The imminent regeneration was taking its toll on her body the longer that she prolonged it. Within any second, she could burst into the process, putting those around her in more danger than they already were. Joyce was shadowing her every minute, begging her to take a break, and taking her temperature by placing her hand over her sweat-drenched forehead (an obvious symptom of a developing fever). Si wanted to tell her to stop treating her like a child, but she could barely talk nor did she have the time to.              She dematerialized the TARDIS out of the Infinite DC and back to the ground floor of the Hawkins Lab. There, they found Bob and Murray standing below a gate that had opened on the ceiling, a mattress placed directly below it. “Where are…they?” Si rasped to the two gentlemen guarding the gate. ...

"Aftermath" - Part Eight

Image
Part Eight              The next three days were the longest and most excruciating for Si, subjected to torturous examination by Brenner and his team in the Nina facility that included vivisection. Most of it was a blur, but the overwhelming pain in her bandaged torso was a constant recap.              On the third day, she awakened by another sharp sting and a voice.              “Welcome back. I was afraid you might not have survived.”              Through her hazy vision, she saw a dark white-haired figure standing stringently outside her cage. She was placed in one very similar to the one where she found Pathos. She tried sitting up but the pain had paralyzed her, keeping her restrained to the floor.        ...

"Aftermath" - Part Seven

Image
Part Seven              Eddie was a comforting presence in the console room, after Si’s devastating altercation with Max. He found the electric guitar that Si left sitting in the corner, neglected for the past year, and gently played a few chords from Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” Si appreciated that her guitar had been put to such use and told Eddie, “It’s yours, if you like it.”              Looking up from the sleek red guitar, Eddie gazed on his Time Lord hostess with misty eyes. “R-Really? I…I don’t wanna just take your stuff from ya.”              “So long as you take good care of it, it’s cool,” Si permitted.              “Yes, ma’am,” Eddie snickered.              As Eddie c...
