"Speci-Men" - Part One

Image
Part One             Miya felt like she was a kid parading around in their dad’s clothes. It had been just a couple of days since she regenerated into her new body – an athletic, blond Japanese-American girl of twenty-something years of age. It was a heavy contrast to her previous incarnation, Skeeta Jenkins, who was a bald middle-aged African-American man with a rather brawny physique. As such, his clothes were practically draped on Miya’s petite figure. His ‘Size 15’ shoes might as well have been clown shoes on her ‘Size 7’ feet, so she decided to go barefoot, once inside her TARDIS.             Unfortunately, that didn’t take care of the problem she faced with the pants, which she fought to keep up several times. She even tried tightening the belt, but it went way beyond the last notch.             She needed new clothes – ones that suited this third incarnation.             After saying goodbye to Sonia, Alan, and the companions they made in their journey within one of th

"The Three Tinkerers" - Part Seven

Part Seven             “Did things just go from bad to worse?” Mireya had to ask, seeing the Terminator standing across from them. She would’ve fawned over how much more attractive he looked, if it weren’t for two things: 1) he was a killing machine, and 2) HAL was the one in control of it.             “Uh-huh,” Rania verified with Mireya’s inquiry. She briefly glanced at her successor and gave a little smirk. “On a more intriguing note, we’re looking a bit more ‘detailed’ now.”             “Say what?” Mireya cringed, turning to her predecessor. She quickly realized what she meant when she noticed how Rania’s animated form did in fact appear much closer in detail to her true-to-life form. The same had happened to Mireya herself and Kristin as well. Mireya knew exactly what had caused this: “A massive shift in spatial quality.”             “Created when Steven touched that monolith,” Rania deduced.             Mireya scoffed. “I’d geek out over the science right now, if we w

"The Three Tinkerers" - Part Six

Part Six             The next day in Herkleton, another Type-X TARDIS materialized within the Creek. Its occupants – Steven and Kristin Curtsinger – disembarked to the colorful atmosphere. “Whoa!” Kristin yelped, feeling as if she had walked right into a painting. She looked at her body and clothes, all of which had transformed into animated form. “Yo, check me out! I’m a dang cartoon!”             “That’s the spatial quality,” Steven explained. By his submissive tone, it was clear that he had experienced this rare occurrence before, presumably multiple times.             “The what-now?” Kristin barely caught on, distracted by her new cartoon form.             “It’s the shift in dimensions – kind of like how most TARDISes change their shape to blend in with its surroundings upon landing,” Steven expounded. “You see, the nuage energy that makes up the Infinite DC can—”             “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Kristin tuned out his technobabble.             Steven rolled his eyes, a
